One of the things for which LivingStones provides some space is artwork by Christians from the local community to encourage and inspire. The paintings can sometimes be to express their faith in some way and inspire others through that, or simply to inspire others through the subject matter or thought behind any kind of painting. Featured artist for February is Tanya. Come and be encouraged and inspired by her work as you explore all the Christian resources we have at LivingStones to help you in your faith.

Tanya is originally from South-Africa where I first had a career as a Ballerina at the State Theatre in Pretoria and then as a Graphic Designer.

She studies Information Design and Marketing at the University of Pretoria and worked at her own Graphic Design studio.

Since we moved to the UK in 2000, I am focused on my painting. I am inspired by people, places, flowers, moods, music, my four children and most importantly my love for Jesus. I work with oil, acrylic, watercolours, ink and pencils. I enjoy mosaic art as well.

My theatrical and graphic design background, are an integral part of my expressive style and passion. Although I prefer painting what I feel, I do a lot of commissions and enjoy the challenge of each new project.

My art reflects those Bible verses that are especially close to my heart:

‘Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself. (1 Corinthians 6:19, NLT)

‘Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD. (Psalm 103:22, NLT)
